London and South Western Railway 8 inch Mahogany cased drop dial fusee clock with a cast brass bezel supplied to the LSWR circa 1906 by J. Fox of Barnstaple at a cost of 2-10s-0d. The English fusee movement with rectangular plates held together by turned tapered pillars has been overhauled and the white enamel dial lettered L&SWR J.F. FOX LATE JNo GAYDON 188 BARNSTAPLE has been restored. The Mahogany case is in very good condition and features fine figured mahogany and is stamped in the back 188 SW. The Southern Railway clock records show that it was last in use at Winchester Booking Office. Complete and in working condition with pendulum and key but not checked for accuracy. A copy of the clock record accompanies the lot.
