Shedplate 75D Horsham 1950 to July 1959, then Stewarts Lane June 1962 to September 1963 for steam. This ex LBSCR shed had 15 locos when it lost its code and became a sub shed of Three Bridges and the Brighton. The ex SECR shed at Stewarts Lane had 45 locos when using this code. On becoming a diesel and electric depot, several of its allocation also carried this code. In restored condition with the BR(S) Eastleigh triangle cast into the back and typical Southern region casting marks on the front.
Shedplates / Plaques Sold for: £200Carriage Print WIDECOMBE IN THE MOOR, DEVON by Jack Merriott RI. From the Western Region Series issued in 1954. In good condition with good colour but some light marking in the bottom border. In an original style glazed frame, print measures 20in x10in. A rare print from the Western region series.
Carriage Prints Sold for: £90Worksplate LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY N.B. LOCO CO 1947 61247 ex LNER Thompson B1 4-6-0 numbered LNER 1247 and BR 61247 and named Lord Burghley. Allocated to Doncaster and 40E Colwick from where it was withdrawn in June 1962. Scrapped at Doncaster Works. Oval cast brass, face restored, measures 9in x 5in.
Worksplates Steam Sold for: £600Tenderplate LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY 8504 DARLINGTON WORKS 1908 ex NER P3 0-6-0 numbered NER 1007, LNER J27 5804, BR J27 65804. Shedded at Blyth for most of its life, withdrawn from Sunderland in July 1967 and scrapped at North Blyth by Hughes Bolckow in September 1967. Oval cast brass face cleaned measures 9in x 5in
Tenderplates Sold for: £100Worksplate LONDON NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY CO DONCASTER No 1786 1934 ex Gresley 02 2-8-0 numbered LNER 2435, 3960 and BR 63960. Allocated to March and withdrawn from 35B Grantham in September 1963 and scrapped at Doncaster works. Oval hand engraved brass face lightly cleaned and stamped in the back 3460 and 2435. Measures 13.25in x 7.5in.
Worksplates Steam Sold for: £600Worksplate THE ENGLISH ELECTRIC COMPANY LTD LONDON No 2887/D603 1961 THE VULCAN FOUNDARY LTD LOCOMOTIVE WORKS, ENGLAND. Ex British Railways Class 37 numbered D6724 and 37024 in 1974 and 37714 in 1988 and named Thornaby TMD. Allocated new to 31B March and now preserved on the Great Central railway. In as removed condition as acquired from Doncaster works by the vendors late father who was the Chief Foreman of 4 bay which was the locomotive repair shop and test bays and the stripping shop at British Rail Engineering Ltd. Measures 10.125in x 4.5in.
