Great Eastern Railway 6inch Mahogany cased Fusee Bracket clock supplied to the G.E.R. by Bevan of Tottenham London circa 1880. The English chain driven fusee movement has rectangular snailed plates, the original dial has been re written at Doncaster clock works post 1949 and reads BR(E) 55 and retains its original cast brass bezel with a keyed lock. The Gothic style case has a glazed rear door. The L.N.E.R. records show that this clock was used at Liverpool Street Station General Manager's office. A rare and unusual Railway timepiece used by senior employees, complete with pendulum and keys and in working condition but not tested for timekeeping, stands 15in tall.
