Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway brass Cap Badge STATION MASTER LYR. In excellent condition complete with rear pin. Measures 2in x 1.5in.
Badges / Buttons Sold for: £100Nameplate shield from Bullied Battle Of Britain light Pacific 4-6-2 LORD BEAVERBROOK built at Brighton in 1947 and numbered 21C154 and later 34054. Allocations included Stewarts Lane, Salisbury and 72A Exmouth Junction from where it was withdrawn in September 1964. Scrapped at Birds Bynea in 1965. The original surround has been lightly cleaned but still has traces of BR green and the steel retaining band in the back has suffered corrosion at the bottom. The back of the shield has Clapham Museum reference numbers painted on. Measures 28in x 21.75in.
Nameplates Steam Sold for: £4,600Nameplate set BARNSTAPLE ex Southern Railway Bullied Light Pacific 4-6-2 built at Brighton in 1945 and numbered 21C105 and later 34005. Allocations included Exmouth Junction, Nine Elms, Stewarts Lane, Bricklayers Arms, Salisbury and 70F Bournemouth from where it was withdrawn in October 1966. Scrapped the following year at Buttigiegs Newport. The nameplate and scroll have been face restored and the enamel Town Coat Of Arms has had a small chip expertly repaired. A rare chance to obtain one of the best West Country names. The other side belongs to Barnstaple Town Council.
Nameplates Steam Sold for: £15,500Nameplate WESTERN CHIEFTAIN together with its numberplate D1057. Ex British Railways Class 52 Diesel Hydraulic built at Crewe in 1963 and allocated to 83A Newton Abbot. Withdrawn in May 1976 from Laira and scrapped the following year at BREL Swindon. Nameplate is in original condition. The numberplate has been restored as when purchased from BR Collectors Corner the letter and numbers were missing. These have been replaced with ones cast and purchased from BREL Swindon.
Nameplates Diesel Sold for: £8,000Cheshire Lines Committee silver Free Pass issued to W. H. Oates FREE PASS 1. Measures 1in diameter and is in excellent condition. William Howard Oates was Secretary and Manager of the committee and died in office in 1926. He had also been an interim manager in 1911.
Passes / Medals Sold for: £250Whisky bar dispenser TAMPLINS BREWERY COMPANY LIMITED-SOLE PROPRIETORS. A tall fluted dispenser marked with distinctive purple tulip top, Templin?s Brewery was founded in Brighton in 1821 and acquired by Watney Mann in 1953. In very good condition complete with tap stands 28in tall. These attractive and distinctive objects were usually behind the bar of pubs and dispensed whisky until Customs & Excise demanded a more reliable way of measuring sales of high percentage alcohol.
