GWR brass Cabside Numberplate 6319. Ex Churchward 2-6-0 Mogul built Swindon Works in 1921 and allocated to Wolverhampton. Saw spells at Worcester and Laira before ending up at Gloucester Horton Road in June 1963 from where withdrawal took place not long after. Ex loco condition.

Nameplate 'Merchant Venturer', stainless steel. Ex HST Power Car number 43125 named Bristol Temple Meads 17/04/85 using cast aluminium nameplates. These were removed on repaint in to Swallow livery in the late 1980s and replacement stainless steel nameplates fitted during June 1994. Removed at Brush Loughborough during re-engineering in 2006. Sold on behalf of Great Western Railways in aid of their nominated Charity, Prostate Cancer UK and will come with an official certificate confirming the original owner.

Totem BR(W) PORTISHEAD H/F. Ex Bristol and Portishead Pier and Railway station, later GWR, opened in 1867. Closed in 1954 and rebuilt nearer the town. This station finally closed in 1964 when passenger services ceased. Good condition. Originally purchased by the Portishead Old Station Signalman, later the New Station Porter who waved the first train of 1954 and the last train of 1964. He was a well known character who always wore a flower in his buttonhole.

Plymouth Devonport and South Western Junction Railway 12inch mahogany cased Dial Clock, in original condition with dial lettered PD&SWJ Rly, Budge Callington, the German going barrel movement is in good clean condition. Affixed is a traffolite plate BR-W 5325 and the clock is in good working condition, complete with pendulum and key. The Southern Railway clock records show this clock to have been in use at Luckett Station and supplied by Budge Callington, a very rare clock and the sole survivor with this dial writing.

A pair of Ships Lanterns. The first is a substantial lamp bearing the makers plate 'Wm Harvie & Co 121 Bishop St., Birmingham'. There is also a separate numberplate stamped 11445 and a further plate beneath that 'AKTERST' which is a Swedish nautical term for Aftmost. The lens is engraved 11445 17-12-57, presumably the date it was either made or replaced. The second isn't as substantial but also carries a makers plate 'Seahorse GB Trademark 52789

Poster CHESAPEAKE & OHIO RAILWAY. WASHINGTON by BERN HILL (1911-1977) circa 1950 37.5 x 27.5 inches. Bern Hill was a graphic designer and a painter. He is best known for a series of paintings which were turned into posters for the General Motors Electro-Motive Division, all of which depicted trains coursing their way through the American countryside. In this separate series he depicts landmarks and well turned-out tourists up and down the Chesapeake & Ohio Line. This view is of the United States Capitol building in Washington, Construction began in 1793 and work continued until 1826, several architects had their hand in its design over the years, including William Thornton, Charles Bulfinch and Frederick Law Olmsted. As with all the images in this series, Hill populates the scene with people impeccably clad in the style of their time. Condition good with some tape residue on corners.

In this separate series he depicts landmarks and well turned-out tourists up and down the Chesapeake & Ohio Line. Hill populates the scene with people impeccably clad in the style of their time. This poster is a view of the Charlottesville Rotunda, Thomas Jefferson designed the Rotunda as the centrepiece of his Academical Village, now the University of Virginia. It was modelled after the Pantheon in Rome and was meant to represent the achievements of the enlightened human. Mind. Jefferson died on July 4, 1826 and did not live to see the completed construction, the Rotunda was finished later that year. Condition good with some tape residue on corners.

This view is of the Cape Henry Lighthouse, which was built in 1792, commissioned by the government to aid in the safe navigation of the Chesapeake Bay, it was designed and built by John McComb Jr and is the third oldest lighthouse in the United States. BR Western Region hand-coloured Signalbox Diagram DUNHAMPSTEAD, framed and glazed measuring 29.5in x 17.5in mounted in the frame. Ex Midland Railway box between Stoke Works and Oddingley Crossing on the main Birmingham to Bristol route that bypasses Worcester. There was a station at this location way back in the 1840's when the line was first opened. A small manageable diagram from a remote Worcestershire location.

A set of 4 WWI enamel Railway Service Badges mounted in a small wooden frame and comprising: a rare LYR Transport Services; a rare Rhymney Railway or London Brighton South Coast Railway in gilt and enamel with makers name 'JA Wylie & Co London' on rear and incised with the low number Z1427'; standard Lancashire & Yorkshire fully titled; standard 'On War Service 1914' untitled. Note that Froggatt mentions the second badge as being LBSCR or TVR or RR. However the Taff stamped the rear TVR so this is not from that company but believed to be Rhymney.

GWR collection that belonged to the Chief of Police Mr J.H. Matthews comprising: GWR wooden Police Truncheon in very good used condition with 'Parker Holborn Maker 233' on bottom of handle; General Strike May 1926 hallmarked silver official GWR Presentation Tray bearing his name; Glass Hip Flask in an ornate metal sleeve engraved 'JHM Cardiff Station GWR'; an oval metal plate with an etched negative of his head and shoulders which matches the newspaper cutting photograph (2nd left) when he attended the presentation of gold medals and ambulance awards at Southall GWR First Aid Class; a box of Great Western Railway Macniven & Cameron No 1 Pen Nibs. Some photocopy paperwork relating to the history accompanies. J.H. Matthews, who had been the GWR Senior Detective since 1912, took charge of the Special Police and the Traffic Police when they were unified in 1918. Designated Chief of Police, he was first of only three to ever hold the post, the later two being George Stephens and then Arthur Lane. A very desirable and historic lot.

Nameplate 'City of Bristol', cast aluminium. Ex HST Power Car number 43126 named at Bristol Temple Meads on 17/04/85 with cast aluminium nameplates. These were removed in September 1987 and the power car was renamed using stainless steel plates at Bristol St. Phillips Marsh Depot on 17/09/91. These were replaced again in June 1994 by a new set of cast aluminium nameplates which were removed at Brush Loughborough during re-engineering in 2007, in ex loco condition with traces of green and blue paint along the edge. BR-W /LNWR 10 inch oak cased drop dial fusee clock, probably supplied by Joyce of Whitchurch to the LNWR in the latter part of the 19th century and then transferred onto the Western Region of British railways post 1948 with the boundary changes. On the right hand side of the case is a BR-W ivorine plate with number 4760, the movement has large rectangular plates and is in cleaned and working condition complete with pendulum and Key.

Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Pocket Watch by Elgin. The 15 jewel 317 grade movement is clearly marked 'Elgin International Watch Co USA' with a serial number 22679760 indicating a 1919 manufacturing date. The face is in perfect condition having the same number as the movement, behind which is ghost writing showing 'Elgin USA'. Retains the original bevelled glass and the rear of the case is crisply engraved 'L&YR'.

Worksplate Great Central Ry Builders Gorton Works 1921 Manchester, oval brass 10.5 x 6.75 inches. Stamped on rear 1347, this rare plate is one of only three ex LNER Robinson 4-6-0 B6 Class locomotives, originally numbered 5052 then in 1946 renumbered 1329, finally 1347. Allocated new to Woodford Halse for work on the Great Central main line, all three moved to Gorton and then Sheffield. Final shed was Ardsley from where withdrawal took place in March 1947 before nationalisation. Face only restored.

Midland Railway pine cased Signal Box weight driven Clock by Reuben Bosworth of Nottingham, the A framed weight driven movement is complete with pendulum but no weight, the pine case has various names and dates inside the door and has its LMS brass numberplate 12470 screwed to the front, it measures 47 inches tall x 12 inch wide and 7 inch deep. These clocks are not very common and would make a good project for someone.

London and Birmingham Railway Guards watch By Joseph Fenn of London. A brass and mahogany cased fusee Guards Watch dating from circa 1837, this important timepiece was used by Guards, set and locked at Euston, then travelled with the Guard so he could confirm the time at the Stations at which they stopped. Certainly in use before Greenwich time signals were sent by Telegraph. The Brass case is hand engraved to the front Joseph Fenn London and to the rear Euston Station No3 1797. The English Lever fusee movement is in working condition. This is another rare and important railway timepiece to come onto the market with us. Complete with the key to wind and set it. Joseph Fenn is recorded as working from Newgate Street, London and was also elected 3 times the Master of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers for 1842, 1843 and 1863.

LMS or early BR experimental enamel Hawkseye LEAMINGTON SPA. Believed to be ex Avenue Station, it measures 36 inches x 17.5 inches and is chocolate and cream in colour with an overall white ground. The centre circle is exactly the same size as LMS alloy Hawkseyes but the face is without border and the two wings have top flanges with bolt fixing holes. One small chip otherwise virtually mint. A great rarity for certain.

Worksplate 'J. Stalina - Poznan - Polska No 1521 of 1950'. From a Soviet Railways 5ft Gauge Class Er 0-10-0 believed to be No. 786 16. The prototype was built in 1932 being a rebuild of an earlier Class Em. After World War Two 2682 were constructed for the Soviet Railways by Eastern European factories, many as war reparations, and additionally more were also built for industry. Stalina built 898 between 1949 and 1957. The Stalina factory gained its name after the War and was formerly known as H. Cegielski. The E family of locos possibly totalled over 11000 members

Worksplate ex Russian Railways 1553 14760. From a Soviet Railways 5ft Gauge Class L 2-10-0 (number unknown) built by the Ministry of Transport at Voroshilovgrad (formerly Lugansk) October Revolution Workshops. These were the principal Russian post-war freight design and many formed part of the Russian steam reserve until mass withdrawals began in the late 1980s. In 1992 over 3000 still remained in stock. The shape of the plate represents a stylised steam loco. Cast iron in ex loco condition.

Worksplate Skoda No 2548 of 1951. From a Soviet Railways 5ft Gauge Class Er 0-10-0 believed to be No. 771 74. The prototype was built in 1932 being a rebuild of an earlier Class Em.
