Shedplate 14C St Albans 1950-1960 then Bedford 1963-1971. Face restored.
Shedplates / Plaques Sold for: £150Nameplate DITCHEAT MANOR ex Collett GWR/BR-W Manor 4-6-0 built at Swindon in 1950 and numbered 7821. Allocations included Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Tyseley, Newton Abbot, Croes Newydd, Machynlleth, Oxley and withdrawn from 84G Shrewsbury in October 1965. Named after a manor house near Shepton Mallet, the loco after being withdrawn was saved from Barry Scrapyard and restored. It is now owned by the West Somerset Railway Association. In nicely cleaned condition and stamped L7821 in the back indicating this was the left hand plate.
Nameplates Steam Not sold, reserve: £0Post Office enamel doorplate EXCISE OFFICERS. Measures 18in x 4in and is in excellent condition. A rare doorplate.
Doorplates Enamel Sold for: £150Worksplate THE ENGLISH ELECTRIC COMPANY LTD LONDON No 2913/D565 1960 THE VULCAN FOUNDRY LTD LOCOMOTIVE WORKS ENGLAND ex British Railways Deltic Class 55 originally numbered D9008. Renumbered 55008 in 1974 and named The Green Howards at Darlington station by Brigadier G. W. Eden, Colonel of the Regiment, on 30th September 1963. Withdrawn in December 1981 and scrapped the following year at Doncaster Works. Rectangular chromed brass in as removed condition. Measures 10in x 4.5in and comes with British Railways Rail Curios York letter of sale and till receipt dated May 15th 1981.
Worksplates Diesel Sold for: £6,600Nameplate and badge KENLEY ex SR Bulleid Battle Of Britain 4-6-2 built at Brighton in 1947 and initially numbered 21C168 then 34068 in 1948. Allocated to Ramsgate, Stewarts Lane and lastly 72B Salisbury from where it was withdrawn in December 1963. Scrapped the following year at Eastleigh Works. The nameplate has been face restored and the badge, which was known to have been also carried by sister locomotive Sir Trafford Leigh Mallory, has been lightly cleaned. Named after RAF Kenley which was one of the three main fighter stations during The Battle Of Britain. A superb set.
Nameplates Steam Sold for: £19,000Diesel Reproduction nameplate THE CANARY with original Canaries badge ex BR Class 08 0-6-0 built at Darlington in 1960 and originally numbered D4037. Renumbered 08869 in 1974 and named at Norwich Crown Point Depot by Steve Bruce (captain of Norwich City Football Club) in May 1987.
