Leather Cash Bags were generally used to transport wages and other cash between two locations. Each would have a brass plate fitted engraved with the home station or a from & to location. Usually sold as an entity but some collectors remove the plates from rotting leather bags and simply collect these. Great Western, London & North Eastern Railway examples are highly sought after, every station on the network seemed to have one and a good proportion have survived.
