Worksplate British Railways Crewe Built 1964 Power Equipment by Brush Electrical Engineering Company Ltd and Sulzer. Ex Class 47 locomotive originally numbered D1595 then TOPS number 47469. A western region loco for most of its life but ended up in Scotland. Withdrawn March 1989 and cut up later that year at MC Metals. Face cleaned rear ex loco with prolific blue paint runs.

GWR Pre grouping Guards Pocket Watch manufactured by Rotherhams of London in the latter part of the 19th century. The case is in good condition and is hand engraved GWR 1697 on the rear, the top wind and button set movement is in good clean working condition , the dial with GWR enamelled at the top is free from chips but has a small hairline crack which could be cleaned and would appear invisible. Altogether a nice example of an early GWR watch.

Cambrian Railway 12 Oak Cased Fusee Dial Clock. Original, early chain drive fusee movement with 'A' shaped plates looks like it has been recently cleaned and overhauled, the oak case has 2 side doors, bottom door and eight piece segmented surround and the original dial shows BR-W. complete with Ivorine plate G.W.R. 542. on the back of box is chalked FAIRBOURNE which was a former Cambrian station. A rare clock. In working condition complete with pendulum and Key. Circa 1890

LMS Hawkseye ABERSYCHAN AND TALYWAIN. Ex GWR station, opened in 1878 by the Brynmawr and Blaenavon Railway later absorbed into the London and North Western Railway connecting with the Heads of the Valleys Line taking coal directly to the Midlands. A junction with the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway led to joint use once that railway was absorbed into the Great Western Railway. Passenger use ceased during the Second World War, the first day without service being 5 May 1941 but general goods were carried until 1954 and the line was used by the Big Pit at Blaenavon until the coal mine closed in 1980.The sign is in two halves and in totally original condition.

Monmouthshire Railway/GWR Track Marker No 80, ex Newport Dock Street Gwent Coal Concentration Depot. Formerly MR & CC Dock Street Passenger Station. It was actually sited at 0.71 miles on the Neutral Mile Newport. A photograph in situ accompanies. A very rare item not seen previously.

LNER 9 x 5 Works Numberplate 'London & North Eastern Railway 7127 Rebuilt Stratford Works 1920'. Ex Standard Gauge Holden Class F3 2-4-2T built at Stratford in 1893 as Great Eastern Railway No. 1079 becoming 8079 under the LNER in 1924. It was renumbered 7127 in May 1946 and then 67127 by British Railways in January 1949. Sheds after Nationalisation included Norwich, Lowestoft and finally Ipswich from where it was withdrawn in April 1953. Scrapped at Stratford Works.

The chain driven fusee movement which has recently been cleaned and oiled has rectangular plates with shaped shoulders and ringed and barrelled pillars. The original dial bears the writing BR-W. and the excellent quality flame mahogany case with an eight piece segmented surround is in original condition and has an Ivorine numberplate fixed to it G.W.R. 1285 . A nice example of these popular clocks and apparently originates from Round Oak Station in the Black Country. Complete with pendulum and Key. Circa 1870

Nameplate, SAINT NICHOLAS together with a non original crest. Ex Class 91 locomotive number 91009. Named in December 1992 by the Lord Bishop of Newcastle, removed from the loco in March 1996. Named after the patron saint of children to mark the 900th anniversary of Newcastle Cathedral. Nameplate has ex loco rear and measures 59 in length.

Industrial Nameplate BEXHILL. Ex Standard Gauge 0-6-0ST which was built by Manning Wardle as their No. 1365 in 1898. It originally worked for contractors H.M.Nowell and S.Pearson and Co. Ltd before going to the Ministry of Munitions at Darlington. In 1919 it was acquired by J.F.Wake, Dealers , of Darlington and was sold on to James Smith who owned an Ironworks at Hamworthy in Dorset. In about 1937 it moved to the British Sugar Corporation

GER brass cased Pressure Gauges, a pair . The first is a very early Loco Boiler Gauge, porcelain dial measuring 7 diameter with a max pressure of 200 psi, red lined at 140psi. Manufactured by Salter and marked 'Bourden Patent'. The dial is cracked but still a rare gauge. The second has a 4 enamel dial max pressure 150 psi. This one is in excellent condition.

Worksplate Beyer Peacock (Hymek) Ltd No 7951 Manchester 1962. Ex Hymek locomotive number D7047, released to traffic in August 1962 and allocated to Bristol Bath Road. Survived for less than 10 years being withdrawn in January 1972 from Old Oak Common. Cut up at BREL Swindon later that year. Undamaged, ex loco condition with original green paint on rear.

The chain driven fusee movement which has recently been cleaned and oiled has rectangular plates with shaped shoulders and is stamped in the back Ex YRK which confirms that the clock was originally sold from the British Railways Collectors corner shop in York sometime in the 1970's. The original dial bears the writing LNER 5884 , the excellent quality flame mahogany case which is in original condition has a ornate wooden lenticle window and detailed carved ears. The LNER clock records show that the clock was in use at Barnard Castle East cabin Signal box, altogether a magnificent and rare clock. Complete with Pendulum and Key. Circa 1870

Smiths 0 - 100 mph Speedometer as fitted to Bulleid Pacifics. Alloy case retaining the 2 pin plug on rear. Original makers plate shows manufacture date as 5/60. Untested but the needle is free to move so may well still be functional. Reputedly originated from a Merchant Navy Class loco but we are unable to confirm this.

L&NWR Station Master Hat with company initials embroidered above the 'scrambled egg' peak. Accompanying L&NWR Rule Book and other booklets indicates that the owner, a Mr G.A. Dyke was District Relief Clerk at Knighton station in Radnorshire. This may well have been his hat or he may have acquired it from the Station Master at Knighton. Some minor damage to the peak otherwise a very nice survivor indeed.

A much travelled loco, allocations include Crewe, Bescot, Stourbridge Junction, Newton Heath, Farnley Junction, Derby, Shrewsbury, Edge Hill, Willesden, Northampton, Bletchley and Llandudno Junction. Withdrawn March 1967 and sold Cohen of Morriston. Sent 13/9/67and Chester.

Bulleid Merchant Navy original front smokebox design mock up in wood and brass of a 6 spoke Ship's Wheel. Crafted at Eastleigh, this was to be the design adopted for the Merchant Navy class locomotives but it never reached fruition. Measures 15 across. A significant piece of Southern Railway history. Together with the original wooden model of a 'hexagon - pentagon' Crank Pin Locking Nut and annotated notes/diagrams as designed by Reginald Curl. In the book 'Bulleid Of The Southern' by HAV Bulleid, page 119 has an interesting anecdote from OV Bulleid himself about this very item.

Totem, BR(M) GREAT BRIDGE NORTH, F/F. Ex L&NWR station between Dudley and Wednesbury. Opened in 1850 by the South Staffordshire Railway. By the late 1800's it was evident that passenger services weren't as viable as freight services but it remained open until 1964 Good colour and shine with a few chips within the white border. A scarce totem indeed.

Renumbered 86238 under TOPS in February 1974 and named by Rt Hon Edward Heath at Liverpool Street station on 21st April 1986. Directly after naming, it worked a special from Liverpool Street to Harwich for the maiden voyage of the Sealink Ferry Koningen Beatrix. Scrapped in 2005 at Boreham Scrap Co, Boreham. BR(M) enamel Signalbox Board DARWEN No1, 60 x 10. Ex LYR station on the defunct Ribble Valley Line between Spring Vale and Lower Darwen however the station is still functional on the Blackburn Entwistle route. The signal box was situated on the Up Platform of the station. Faded but little damage.

GWR brass Signal Box Shelf Plate TO S&D LOCO BOX. Ex 'Highbridge West' box on the Bristol to Taunton main line , opened by the GWR in 1914 to control the flat crossing of the S&D J Rly across it own metals. The S&D had a signal box either side if the crossing and had control interlocked with the GWR West Box. The two boxes being 'B Box' and 'Loco Box'. Post nationalisation the S&D boxes were re-named, with 'Highbridge B' becoming 'Highbridge East B' (closed 16th May 1965) and 'Loco Box' becoming 'Highbridge East C'. This plate came from the GWR Box around 1948 being replaced by Ivorine Shelf Plates with the new descriptions.

The wire fusee movement which has recently been cleaned and oiled has rectangular plates with turned pillars. The original dial bears the writing L.M.S. JOYCE WHITCHURCH 10613 and is in good condition, the case is also free from repairs and is in original condition and has an Brass numberplate fixed to it L.M.S. 10613. A very rare example of a Joyce clock and was used in the station at Bromsgrove, this was confirmed by the vendor who purchased it direct from the Station in the late 1960's when he worked for British Road Services who were based there, Bromsgrove is also lightly scratched on the movement backplate. It retains the original cab bulkhead plate and pipe, a rare 'extra' indeed. Totally ex loco condition.

Re-named AMETHYST after the Royal Navy ship HMS Amethyst involved in the Yangste River incident of 1949. Allocations include Newton Heath, Blackpool, Bank Hall, Derby and Warrington. LNER Policeman's Tunic and Cape with original Truncheon stamped '778 GER', a pair of Handcuffs, a wartime Police Tin Helmet, a Metropolitan Whistle, a GER Helmet Badge number 247 and LNER Helmet Badge. The accompanying photograph is of the Father of the vendor who was a GER Policeman. The tunic still has three war medal ribbons attached.

LNER 9 x 5 Works Numberplate 'London & North Eastern Railway 7155 Rebuilt Stratford Works 1924'. Ex Standard Gauge Holden Class J65 0-6-0T built at Stratford in 1889 as Great Eastern Railway No, 155 becoming 7155 under LNER ownership. In 1946 it was renumbered 8211 and then 68211 under British Railways. In the early days these locos were used on the Fenchurch Street to Blackwell services where because of the sharp curves they ran as 2-4-0Ts by having the front driving wheels uncoupled. They became known as Blackwell Tanks. It was latterly an Ipswich loco and was used on the docks there.

Original 1925 Oil Painting of GER (later LNER) cross channel Ship ARCHANGEL by Dutch Artist AJ Jansen, Rotterdam, 26 x 18 approximately in glazed frame. More than likely commissioned by the LNER and hung in the offices at Harwich. The ship was built in 1910 as St. Petersburg for the Great Eastern Railway. Renamed Archangel in 1916 and acquired by LNER in 1923. Bombed and sunk on 16 May 1941 off the East coast of Scotland.

LNWR Guards watch By John Walker of London. A brass cased fusee Guards Watch dating from circa 1840, this important timepiece was used by Guards, set and locked at Euston, then travelled with the Guard so he could confirm the time at the Stations at which they stopped. Certainly in use before Greenwich time signals were sent by Telegraph. The Brass case is engraved to the front John Walker 48 Princess Street, Leicester Square, London and to the rear London & North Western Railway No 144 1038. The English Lever fusee movement is in working condition. This is one of the rarest and most important railway watches to come onto the market in recent years.

LNER 9 x 5 Works Numberplate 'London & North Eastern Railway 1535 Rebuilt Stratford Works'. Ex Standard Gauge Holden Class B12 4-6-0 built at Stratford in 1915 as Great Eastern Railway No. 1535. Under the LNER it was renumbered 8535 in January 1924 but in December 1942 became 7449 only to revert to its original number of 1535 in June 1946. In BR days it was renumbered 61535 in December 1948. Between May 1932 and October 1935 it was fitted with an ACFI feed water heater. From 1948 it spent time at Stratford and Ipswich but at the very end it went to Norwich in November 1959 and was withdrawn from there in the following month being scrapped in January 1960 at Stratford Works.

A good quantity of interesting Photographs recovered from Eastleigh Works. Includes a few framed locomotives but the majority are different sizes of Leader Class and others, Cranes, Works interior etc, Some interesting, early albums and one in particular of the mishap of BR Standard 76017 when on the 22nd September 1964 at Whitchurch Town, it slipped down an embankment after running away with its train. The last views appear to be the happy men at Eastleigh who straightened out the damage!. Also with this lot are a good quantity of oilette and paper Loco Plans and Drawings.

Great Eastern Railway 12 mahogany cased Fusee Dial Clock. Original chain drive fusee movement with rectangular plates and tapered pillars. The mahogany case has 1 side door, a bottom door and one piece turned surround. Retains some green baize attached to the inside of the back box which was a feature of GER clocks. The dial shows LNER in block lettering and the clock No 1465. The LNER clock records show the location as Stratford Works Accountant, Loco Accounts, Machine Room. In working condition complete with pendulum and Key. Circa 1900
