27 Great Northern Railway 14in mahogany cased fusee clock by Potts & Sons of Leeds. The wire driven fusee movement has rectangular plates and turned pillars and is in good working condition and is fixed to the dial with a false plate. The original dial has been repainted post 1923 by the LNER clock workshops at Doncaster and now displays L.N.E.R. 10459 also visible as ghosted writing is Potts & Sons Leeds GNR 268.The LNER records confirm that clock No 10459 was in use at Dewsbury Goods inwards office. 299 GWR 19th Century Locomotive brass Splasher Coat of arms, as fitted to the Dean Singles, it measures 11.5 inch diameter and is in ex loco condition. A wonderful and historic survivor not to be confused with the later Swindon re cast brass plates that were sold in the 1980's, the originals have a hollow back and the paintwork is to a much higher standard.
