Great Northern Railway 14in mahogany cased fusee clock by Potts & Sons of Leeds. The wire driven fusee movement has rectangular plates and turned pillars and is in good working condition and is fixed to the dial with a false plate. The original dial has been repainted post 1923 by the LNER clock workshops at Doncaster and now displays L.N.E.R. 10459 also visible as ghosted writing is Potts & Sons Leeds GNR 268.The LNER records confirm that clock No 10459 was in use at Dewsbury Goods inwards office. A nice 19th century Potts timepiece in good working condition complete with pendulum and key.

Intercity double sided illuminated BOOKING OFFICE sign displaying the Intercity Swallow and Logo introduced in 1987 ( designed by Newell & Sorrel to emphasise speed and movement ). The sign, ex Newcastle Central Station, is manufactured from aluminium measuring 25in long x 10in deep. It retains its original mounting bracket and is in working condition. GWR Pre-grouping Pocket Watch, by the Lancashire Watch Co Ltd Prescot. A good quality English made watch with top wind and lever set for time adjustment. The dial is free from chips and has GWR enamelled below the XII position as well as the makers name. The good quality Nickel case has matching numbers 230 to all parts and the back of the case has GWR hand engraved onto it and the number 2029 machine engraved, the numbered movement 328340 is fully signed Lancashire Watch Co Ltd Prescot & London and the records show that this was made with 4 pairs of extra jewels and supplied to the GWR on the 15th March 1900. In fully cleaned and working condition, this type of watch is the rarest GWR pattern of all.

The dial is free from chips, the nickel case has matching numbers 465 to all parts, and L&SWR PASSENGER 266 hand engraved to the back although now this is a little worn, the numbered movement 10310227 is fully signed AM Watch Co Waltham Mass, this dates the watch to the later part of the 19th century. In good clean working condition, although the top winder is a little loose.

The dial is free from chips and has LNWR enamelled below the XII position as well as the maker's name. The good quality Nickel case has matching numbers 414 to all parts and the back of the case has the number 7777 and also 3343 machine engraved and crossed out, the numbered movement 219829 is fully signed Lancashire Watch Co Ltd Prescot & London, the LNWR were invoiced for this watch on 21st November 1899 and purchased 80 of this type. In good clean working condition.

The dial is free from chips and has the makers name, the nickel case has matching numbers 43 to all parts, and SR 1649 hand engraved to the back, the numbered movement 4867801 is signed Waltham Mass. In good clean condition, although the movement is a little sluggish and definitely would benefit from a service.

U.S.A., this dates the watch to being manufactured in 1917. In good clean recently overhauled condition.

North Eastern Railway pocket watch. A vintage key wind and hands set watch, with an unsigned full plate gilt movement dating to about 1900 or earlier. The face and hands are in perfect condition and the shallow bevelled glass is free from scratches. The nickel silver case, also perfect, has a hinged front and double back, the outer of which is clearly embossed NER 1.7. A fine heavy watch in excellent condition and good working order.

Diesel nameplate SPECTRE, cast aluminium carried by Tyseley based 08601 October 1985 - August 1998 (13 years). This shunter was one of two personalised by Tyseley depot for shunting in New Street station, it carried LMS black livery and number 601. (The other was 08604 named PHANTOM and carried BR green with cast '604' number). The two names came from these 08's livery appearance in a dim New Street station when tired eyes might wonder quite what they had seen or glimpsed!! 08601 was scrapped December 2005. Measures 93.5cm x 16.8cm and is stamped on the back '08601 LH' for the left hand plate.

This will be Lot 375A in the Auction. Nameplate DUCHESS OF KENT ex LMS Stanier Princess Royal class 4-6-2 No 46212 built at Crewe works in 1935. Initially allocated to 1B Campden, then 5A Crewe North, 1B Campden, 5A Crewe North, 8A Edge Hill and finally Crewe North from where it was withdrawn in October 1961 then cut up at Crewe works in March 1962. Lightly face restored rear ex loco, comes with wooden splasher for display. Note only 4 Princess Royal nameplates have ever been offered for sale publicly before and this is the one that was sold by Sheffield railwayana auctions in September 2008.

This will be Lot 420A in the Auction. Nameplate WESTERN VANGUARD with matching Cabside Numberplate D1069. Ex BR Class 52 Diesel Hydraulic D1069, one of the final batch of the class built by BR at Crewe Works and released to traffic in October 1963. Initially allocated to 86A Cardiff Canton, then 87E Landore, 84A Laira, 87E Landore and finally 84A Laira from where it was withdrawn in October1975 then cut up at Swindon in February 1977. The nameplate measures 96.5in x 8in and the cabside numberplate 34.5in x 10in both are in ex loco condition with lots of blue and maroon paint evident and brake dust, none of the beading is loose. One of the best condition Western sets to come onto the market.
