Furness Railway brass signal lever plate from Plumpton Junction box between Grange Over Sands and Ulverston. 6 UP HOME FROM PRIORY TO LAKESIDE 36 31 17. Engraved brass with original red wax infill and bracket to the rear, measures 6.75in long. Plumpton was the junction for Windermere Lakeside and the Conishead Priory branch, the latter closing in 1916 though a short section to Bardsea Works was retained until 1994.

A lot containing a collection of 13 BRW traffolite signal box lever plates. 11 recovered from the READING MAIN LINE WEST or EAST BOX when closed during the early 1960s when the new colour light signalling was installed together with an interesting collection of memos detailing slip working and the experimental trials of the new 1947 block instrument and suggested modifications required before general use. An interesting Lot for any GWR signalling enthusiast.
