Great Eastern Railway 12in dial teak cased railway clock with a cast brass bezel. The rectangular plated chain driven English fusee movement has snailed plates with GER stamped onto the backplate which are held together by turned screwed pillars, this would have been supplied to the GER circa 1900. The restored dial is lettered GER and the rear of the dial has BR(S) 11330 painted on the back and various repair dates. The case has one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass lock, and has GER branded in the back and also its later BR(S) number 11330 stamped. The SR clock records show the clock as last being in use at New Cross Gate Goodwood Road Goods Office which would have been taken over by the Southern Region post 1948 and also that it was originally GER clock number 243. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and keys. A copy of the clock record accompanies the lot.
