Nameplate TENTERDEN ex Hawthorn Leslie 2-4-0T built in 1899 as works number 2420 and supplied new to the Rother Valley Railway for the opening of the line and numbered 1. Withdrawn in 1936 and sold for scrap in 1941. Rectangular cast brass in as removed condition measures 37.25in x 4.25in. A superb plate from this Colonel Stephens line, the other side is in the National collection and currently on loan to the Colonel Stephens museum.
