Londonderry, Seaham & Sunderland Railway cast iron sign, NOTICE ALL PERSONS TRESPASSING ON THESE PREMISES WILL BE PROSECUTED. From the privately owned 6 mile line that was built as a means of exporting coal from nearby collieries owned by the Marquess of Londonderry. It opened in 1854, and ran from Seaham Harbour to Ryhope Grange, near Sunderland, where it joined with the North Eastern Railway. Possibly ex Seaham Harbour. In restored condition, measures 24in x 12.5in. A possibly unique sign.
