Cabside numberplate, SOUTHERN RAILWAY 1450 ex SER Stirling B 4-4-0 built by Neilson, Reid & Co in 1898 and numbered SER 450. Rebuilt to a Wainwright design in 1911 as a class B1 and numbered SR 1450. Allocated to 74C Dover from where it was withdrawn in May 1948 and scrapped. Oval cast brass face restored, measures 13.25in x 7.5in. These locomotives were nicknamed Flying Bedsteads and During WWII they were turned into make-shift air raid shelters and positioned over pits immobilised and surrounded with sand bags.
