Nameplate GLADIATOR (CASTLE CLASS) ex GWR Collett Castle Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in 1938 and originally named DRYSLLWYN CASTLE and numbered 5076, renamed Gladiator after the famous World War 2 aircraft in January 1941. Allocated to Exeter, Landore, Bristol Bath Road, Old Oak Common, Laira, Reading (WR) and 81C Southall from where it was withdrawn in September 1964. Scrapped later the same year at R.S. Hayes / Birds Bridgend. Nicely face restored, rear original with R scratched on it indicating this is the right hand side plate. A rare chance to obtain one of the GWR aircraft nameplates.
