Nameplate THE BROCKLESBY ex Gresley D49 4-4-0 built at Darlington in 1934 and originally numbered LNER 230, 2756 and BR 62756. Allocated to Neville Hill and 50E Scarborough from where it was withdrawn in April 1958 and scrapped at Darlington Works and its boiler was sent to Cowlairs as a spare. Curved cast brass nicely face restored, rear of nameplate stamped L 230 indicating its is the left hand plate, original fox not stamped. Both mounting studs on the rear are missing the nuts to secure the fox. The first time either side from the locomotive has appeared since removal.
