Worksplate, E. Borrows & Sons No.3 Providence Works 1875 Sutton St. Helens. Oval brass measuring almost 15 x 9. Considerable research has not unearthed the actual loco that this possibly carried. Borrows manufactured a small amount of about 40 0-4-0 Well Tanks between 1875 and 1910. This plate originated from the Pilkington Factory so may well have been on a loco at this location. With so few examples in existence, it has proven extremely difficult to fully authenticate this plate, despite much research. Therefore, this one is being left up to the Buyer.
