Southern Railway brass cased fusee ships clock. The original 8 inch dial has had some light restoration and shows SR 10219, the brass case has a cast brass bezel with bevelled glass and the substantial chain driven fusee movement with Harrisons maintaining power is in clean working condition. The clock is mounted on a mahogany plinth which has a brass plate attached S.S. Canterbury 1929 - 1964 Presented to the Dover Waterguard. The Southern railway clock records confirm clock no 10219 was used on SS Canterbury. The Waterguard were the forerunner of the Customs & Excise. A rare and important maritime and railway timepiece.
