North Eastern Railway 12 Oak cased drop dial fusee Clock, by Potts & Sons of Leeds, circa 1870. The chain driven fusee movement with heavy plates and turned ringed pillars is in good condition and the case still has its original finish and is in excellent condition. The original dial has been repainted by the LNER post 1923 but NER is clearly visible as ghosted writing. Research from the LNER clock records show this clock as ending up being located at Doncaster Works Chief Mechanical and Electrical Engineer R shop office. A nice example of this type of clock and in full working condition complete with key and pendulum.
