LSWR Pen enclosed in a tubular, wooden sheath. A remarkable item, probably issued as a souvenir item around the late 19th century or early 20th century. Comprises a wooden shafted dipping pen measuring 6 in length and bearing large initials 'L. & S.W.R. ' the nib marked 'George Hughes, Violin Pen Ltd.' This fits into a wooden sheath, the lid of which is marked in even larger initials of 'L. & S. W. R. and the body of which bears the image of a 4-4-0 open cab loco pulling a 5, non-corridor rake of coaches.
