L&SWR Holy Bible from the Steamship HAVRE dated 1866. Hardback brown cover inscribed 'L&SW RAILWAY COMPANY STEAMSHIP HAVRE. The accompanying booklet relates to some history of the ship which was built in 1856.It was wrecked in Little Russell Channel, Guernsey on 15th February 1875 without any loss of life. The Bible must have been rescued then and went into the Copp Family as written in the inside cover. The spine is missing and detachment has occurred, however, this is an amazing survivor without doubt.
