Over 40 different designs of  square shaped depot plaques were adopted by  British Rail between 1987 and 1997. Various sizes exist of alloy construction, the most common being 17.75 in x 17.75 in.  They were officially made for the railway by Newton Replicas in Nottingham (who also made and still make reproductions of the same). Carried examples with clear evidence, on the back in particular, of the corrosion caused by dissimilar metal contact, whilst in service on locomotives, is paramount to the collector. Prices are moving upwards and several hundreds of pounds can be expected for even the more common, but, the Cockney Sparrow for Stratford depot has always commanded a higher price but the Bescot Saddle, Westbury Horse and  Eastfield Scottie Dog arent far behind.
