Worksplate THE VULCAN FOUNDRY LIMITED NEWTON-LE-WILLOWS LANCASHIRE No 4918 1943, from a War Department Austerity 2-8-0 built to Ministry of Supply order in September 1943, WD No 77102. Loaned new to the LNER, it returned to the WD in January 1945, loaned to the GWR in May 1947 and taken into BR stock the following year as 90565. Allocations included Ebbw Junction, Cardiff Canton, Gloucester LM, Didcot, Banbury and 81C Southall from where it was withdrawn in September 1962 and scrapped at Crewe Works 2 years later. Oval cast brass measures 9.5in x 5.75in. Face Cleaned.
