Worksplate, London & North Eastern Railway 8459 Neilson & Co 1907. Ex North British Railway Holmes class D LNER J83 0-6-0T built 1901 as works No 5750. Originally numbered NBR 812, LNER 9812, 8459 and BR 68459. It spent most of its working life at 62A Thornton Junction from where it was withdrawn in May 1961 and scrapped the following year at Inverurie works. Oval cast brass in cleaned condition measures 9in x 5in. Note the error on the LNER plate with build date which is a Cowlairs casting.
