Worksplate, Hudswell Clarke & Co Ltd Railway Foundry Leeds number 1635 dated 1929. Ex Standard Gauge 0-4-0 Saddle Tank built for Sir Lindsay Parkinson Ltd, Talbot Sawmills, Blackpool where it was given the Number 3. Note: Jacob Parkinson and Co, forerunner of Sir Lindsay Parkinson & Co Limited, was founded working from a small shed on Central Drive. As the business expanded into the building trade, the Parkinsons built a sawmill-cum-joinery to supply timber for their projects, and moved into the new premises in Kent Road in 1896. In 1936, they won the contract to build The Liverpool - East Lancashire Road which was Britain's first purpose built intercity highway linking the cities of Manchester and Liverpool. Windle Cutting was excavated and to reove spoil, a temporary railway was laid and this loco would have undoubtedly have been used for this purpose.
