Worksplate, English Electric Vulcan Foundry No 2673/D434, 1959. Ex D217, later 40 017 CARINTHIA. Built at the Vulcan Foundry in July 1959 and first allocated to Crewe North for work on the West Coast Mainline. Named in May 1962. Withdrawn February 1981and cut up in August of that year at Swindon. Ex loco condition throughout. One of only 25 named Class 40's.
