Worksplate THE ENGLISH ELECTRIC COMPANY LTD LONDON THE VULCAN FOUNDRY LTD LOCOMOTIVE WORKS ENGLAND No 2721/D463 1959. Ex British Railways Class 40 Diesel numbered D246 and 40046 in 1974. Allocated to 52A Gateshead and withdrawn from Lonsight in February 1986 and used by the military at Moreton On Lugg Hereford for the SAS to practice entry scenarios. The locomotive was scrapped at Vic Berry's in 1987. Rectangular chromed brass in good condition, with 40046 stamped in the back, measures 10in x 4.5in.
