Worksplate THE ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO LTD VULCAN WORKS NEWTON-LE-WILLOWS ENGLAND No 3778/D1149 1967 ex British Railways diesel class 50 originally numbered D408 and 50008 in 1974. Named THUNDERER in September 1978. Originally allocated to the LMWL London Midland Western Lines and withdrawn in May 1992 from Laira. After its withdrawal, 50008 was initially purchased by Pete Waterman but was then subsequently sold for commercial use to Sea Containers Limited in 1998. In 2006 it was sold again. In rechromed condition as acquired from Doncaster works by the vendors late father who was the Chief Foreman of 4 bay which was the locomotive repair shop and test bays and the stripping shop at British Rail Engineering Ltd.
