Worksplate, Brush Sulzer No 538 dated 1964. Ex Brush Type 4 Co-Co Diesel Locomotive originally numbered D1776, later, on 27/9/73 received TOPS number 47181. In January 1981 it received the number 47578 and finally, on 13/5/94, number 47776. Named THE ROYAL SOCIETY OF EDINBURGH at Edinburgh Waverley on 24/1/85. Nameplates removed 7/91 and the loco was withdrawn 1/8/91 only to be reinstated 21/9/92 and named, without ceremony, RESPECTED. Little paint left, back ex loco.
