Worksplate BEYER PEACOCK & CO LTD GORTON FOUNDRY MANCHESTER 1896. Ex Isle of Man Railway 2-4-0T named Douglas and numbered 9. It saw service on the Island until the mid 1950's and was cosmetically restored in 1969 and then sold in 1978 but remained at the railway. It is currently undergoing restoration. Oval cast brass face lightly restored, measures 16.5in x 7.75in. The nameplate is also being offered in this auction by a different vendor, so a chance to obtain the set from this historic locomotive. Comes complete with a letter of authenticty from the current owner who purchased it from the Isle Of Man Railway & Tramway Preservation Society in 2010 which was documneted in their AGM minutes.
