Truncheon, East & West India Docks Company. A wonderful, 18 Truncheon bearing the large, Victorian Crown with the V.R. initials above and E & W.I.D.Co within garter beneath. Additionally, the number 369 is painted at the bottom. In extremely good condition with just a few paint chips here and there and at the very top. Accompanying this item is a n original pair of Hyatt & Co Handcuffs, purchased with the truncheon in 1973. Note the East & West India Dock Company had a very close association with the London & Blackwall Railway in 1868 when a joint venture to build a railway between Millwall Junction and Millwall Docks.
