Totem BR(S) EASTBOURNE, F/F. Ex LBSCR station opened in 1886 being the third station built in the town and the branch terminus for this popular seaside location. The original station opened in 1849 and was single line from Polegate. It is said that the Southern Railway were keen to build their carriage works at Eastbourne but opposition eventually led to Lancing being the chosen site.
