Southern Railway 7inch Brass Ships Clock SR No 10742, ex SS Canterbury. A superb English going barrel movement in good, cleaned working condition. The dial is engraved brass with silvering and wax infill the SR number is clearly stamped into the back of the case in the usual John Walker style. SS Canterbury was used for the famous daytime Golden Arrow service on the Dover-Calais route, with separate trains on each side of the channel. Theship was lavishly decorated for passengers using this rather 'elite' service. A stunning item for the Southern Collector.
