South African Railways single language, fully titled, brass Cabside Numperplate 791 16R. One of only 12 ex SAR 3' 6 Gauge 4-6-2 Pacific Locomotive built by the North British Locomotive Works under number 20431 in 1914 and classified as class 16. Re-boilered in the 1930's and re-classified as class 16R. Used primarily for express trains on the Pretoria - Johannesburg and the Johannesburg - Volksrust lines but by the 1940's, had been reduced to less glamorous duties, being finally withdrawn in the 1970's. Face bereft of paint, rear completely ex loco with some painted numbers.
