Somerset & Dorset Railway Handlamp with early Midland Railway brass plate and a red front glass, the lamp has been adapted by the railway from a Wagon readers lamp to show red for stop, with original rape oil reservoir stamped 'S&DJRY'. Stands 14 inches tall and is in original condition with traces of both red and black paint. Probably used at a signal box or yard that carried out a considerable amount of shunting at night and could have been from a colliery location like Radstock.
