Smokebox Numberplate 5202 with Hall Class 6944 painted by BR on the reverse. Ex GWR 2-8-0 Locomotive built Swindon in December 1922 and allocated to Ebbw Junction. By 1948 it was at Tondu working the Valleys and finished at Cardiff East Dock before being withdrawn in June 1965. Around that time, the smokebox numberplate was removed, reversed and applied to Hall 6944, Fledborough Hall and painted by BR as such. 6944 was at Cardiff too around the time of withdrawal of 5202. Two smokeboxes for the price of one!
