Smokebox Numberplate 44045. Ex Fowler 4F 0-6-0 Locomotive introduced 1922 and this particular one was scrapped at Cashmores in 1965. Allocated to Gloucester Barnwood throughout its BR lifetime. The plate comes with the original letter of offer from John Cashmore (bought for 25/- along with smokebox 43887, also in this auction) As the letter shows, the plate came broken in half and the Vendor had it welded and restored.
