Smokebox Numberplate 4037, ex GWR Castle Class 4-6-0 Locomotive named THE SOUTH WALES BORDERERS. Built at Swindon in December 1910 as a Star Class 4-6-0 with same number and named Queen Philippa. Rebuilt as a Castle in 1926 and renamed in 1937 and also fitted with regimental crests. It went new to Old Oak Common and remained there well into BR days until a move in 1956 to Penzance, then Newton Abbot, Landore, and finally a brief spell at Exeter from where withdrawal took place in September 1962. Cu up at Cashmores, Newport. Front repainted, the back cleaned.
