A small steel Key stamped with the number S236 and bearing the name Kaye, Leeds and London. What makes this so interesting is the brass tag attached. It is stamped 'L.N.E.R.' on one side and 'The King's Messengers Cpt. 11025 & 11136 1st' on the other. The King's Messenger would have travelled the Royal Train whilst the King was aboard and would have be in charge of any official documents the King carried and also for the delivery of messages that arose whilst en route, in this case quite possibly to either Sandringham or Balmoral.
