Railway Wooden Police Truncheon, Canterbury & Whitstable Railway. Measuring 14 in length, it bears the Crown at the top with fancy script beneath. Company initials are in block lettering beneath this. A magnificent item in wonderful condition and of extreme rarity. The Canterbury & Whitstable Railway opened in May 1830 and was leased to the SER in 1844 being finally absorbed in 1853. This Truncheon, with the Victoria Crown, would therefore date between 1837 and 1853
