Original oil painting on board Chee Dale by Carl Henderson GRA. Painted in 1994 the painting shows the down Midland Pullman passing Chee Dale near Buxton in the 1960's on its journey from St. Pancras to Manchester Central. The train would have passed this site at about 6pm and this is depicted by a late, low, intense sun which gives a golden glow to the sky and long shadows. Painting size is 39in x 25in and the frame size 43in x 29in. Included is a letter from the artist giving details of the painting, an article from the Yorkshire Post showing the painting on display at the 1996 GRA exhibition at the NRM and an artist review from Railway Magazine.
