North British Railway brass Cash Bag Plate engraved 'N.B.R. SCOTLAND St Stn'. Ex NBR branch line station between Piershill and Granton East. Scotland Street station has an interesting history. Originally the Edinburgh, Leith & Newhaven Railway, later the Edinburgh, Leith and Granton Railway, was the original southern terminus of the line within Edinburgh. The line was later extended southwards to Canal Street (by today's Waverley station). Trains were hauled along the tunnel to Canal Street by cable. It closed on the 6th November 1967. Together with North British Railway brass Cash Bag Plate engraved 'N.B.R. PENICUICK STATION' . The station, which closed on the 10th September 1951, was situated at the end of the branch from Hawthornden & Rosewell south of Edinburgh.
