Nameplate WESTERN ADVOCATE together with its matching cabside numberplate D1055. Ex British Railways Class 52 Diesel Hydraulic, built at Crewe, March 1963. First shed allocation Cardiff Canton. June 1964 shed allocation Swansea Landore. Last shed allocation Plymouth Laira. Withdrawn after 1,200,000 miles service, due to a collision at Worcester Tunnel Junction, 3rd January 1976. The set was purchased from British Railways and has been in the same location since then. Totally unrestored and original condition.
