Nameplate TOTNES CASTLE. Ex Class 47 originally numbered D1919. Built by Brush under works number 681, released to traffic January 1966 for work on the Western Region. Renumbered to 47242 in Mar 1974, then 47659 in Nov 1986 and finally 47814 in July 1989. Named at Totnes station by the Duchess of Somerset May 1997 to mark the 150th anniversary of the railway reaching Totnes and the 125th anniversary of the Buckfastleigh, Totnes & South Devon Railway. Face only restored, rear ex loco. Not the plate sold recently, this is the other side.
