Nameplate TIDMARSH GRANGE. Ex GWR 'Grange' Class 4-6-0 locomotive built Swindon in 1937 receiving the number 6847 and initially allocated to Weymouth. Spent most of the 1950's at Tyseley before departing to South Wales to spend time at Newport and Cardiff. Final allocation was Worcester from where withdrawal took place in December 1965. Cut up at Buttigieg's, Newport. Lightly cleaned, the plate has been in singular ownership since purchase from BR. Note: Tidmarsh Grange is steeped in Berkshire's history being a 12th century Manor and not becoming Grange status until 1881.
