Nameplate SIR URRE OF THE MOUNT King Arthur Class. Ex Southern Railway 'Scotch Arthur', built by the North British Locomotive Works in September 1925 under works number 23284. Originally numbered 788 and later 30788. Allocations include Nine Elms and Eastleigh. Withdrawn from service in February 1962. Measures 52 in length, face restored, rear ex loco and clearly stamped '788'. From legend, Urre had slain a Spanish earl's son called Sir Alphegus but in doing so had been severely wounded. Sir Launcelot cured his wounds and in celebration, a joust was held which Urre won and was, as a result, knighted by King Arthur.
