Nameplate THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION. Ex BR/EE 25kv Bo-Bo Class 86 originally numbered E3178. Built by the English Electric Co under works number E3470/E316 in August 1965. Renumbered 86244 under TOPS in March 1974 and was named on the 2nd November 1981 by Lady Vivienne Haig, grandaughter of founder Lord Haig at Euston Station. Scrapped in 2003 at Easco, Immingham Railfreight Terminal. This plate is a Swindon casting. Note: The other side was sold in our May 2009 auction.
