Nameplate PEEBLES-SHIRE ex LNER Gresley D49 4-4-0 built at Darlington in 1928 as works number 1398 and numbered LNER 311, 2719 and BR 62719. Allocated to Haymarket and 64G Hawick from where it was withdrawn in January 1960 and scrapped. Curved cast brass nicely face restored. The first time either plate has been offered for sale at auction.
