Nameplate PEBBLE MILL. Ex BR 25kv Bo-Bo Class 86 originally numbered E3135. Built by British Railways Doncaster Works in January 1966. Renumbered 86040 under TOPS in November 1973 and again to 86256 in March 1975. Named on the 17th November 1981 at Birmingham International Station by Paul Sidey, Head of BBC Network Centre. It was named to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the BBC Pebble Mill centre in Birmingham. The unveiling ceremony was broadcast live on 'Pebble Mill At One'. Withdrawn October 2002 and scrapped in 2006 at Ron Hull Jr, Rotherham. This plate is a Swindon casting. Note: The other side was sold in our May 2009 auction.
