Nameplate NYASALAND. Ex Stanier 4-6-0 'Jubilee' Class locomotive built Crewe Works in October 1934 and numbered 5622, later 45622 by BR. Allocated to the Manchester and London areas on a rotating basis but importantly moved to Burton in 1963 for approximately a year and finally Derby until withdrawal in late 1964, working regular Derby to Bristol turns throughout this period. Scrapped at Cashmore's Great Bridge in late 1964. Note: Nyasaland became Malawi in 1964 upon independence from British rule.
